Re-Charter Day

Recharter is the process where a Scout unit renews its charter as an official part of the Boy Scouts of America. This involves:
  • an update of your unit’s roster (including adding/subtracting members, updating contact information for individuals or your unit’s chartering organization)
  • payment of registration fees with the national Boy Scouts of America organization
  • and payment of group insurance coverage
 
The 2013-2014 Charter Renewal Handbook is your guide to the annual recharter process.  With the assistance of your unit commissioner, this book will lead your unit step by step through rechartering your unit.
 
Upon completing the online registration portion of the renewal process, print the recharter. Acquire the signatures for the charter and applications. Send recharter papers, any new youth /adult applications, and other paperwork contained in the recharter kit (including Quality Unit Application) and all fees to the council office. The council must receive the signed paperwork to process the unit recharter.
